Development of whole aircraft noise model

Abstract

We develop an advanced computer program to estimate aircraft noise, both far-field radiation and scattering on fuselage. The program can calculate noise scattering using workstation efficient and accurately.

The code allows integration of different kinds of noise sources, such as, propeller noise, jet noise and airframe noise. The method is in frequency domain; but due to its short execution time, it has the potential to be applied for broadband noise. With its low computation costs and flexibility for integrating different noise sources, this model has the potential to be a useful engineering tool on noise analysis and relative design optimisation.
